Carol Palumbo
Carol Palumbo has been a member of Steppin’ Out Dance Company since 1991 and began teaching in 1993. She has a gymnastics background and has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, and most recently Aerial Dance. In 2001, Carol completed Level 1 of the Center for the Performing Arts Teacher Training Program with Jacqui Young in Methuen, MA, and in 2005, completed the Trapeze Teacher Training with Elsie Smith and Serenity Smith Forchion of Gemini Trapeze in Brattleboro, VT. Carol’s students have performed at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Hershey Park and have competed in many regional and national competitions, winning many awards. Carol attended the 2004 and 2005 Danzjam Conventions, as well as the 2005 Summer Danzjam Teacher Intensive Training in New York City, where she performed in the Showcase. Carol also attended the Amy Marshall Dance Company Summer Intensive in NYC In 2006. Carol performs with the Pro-Am tap and Pro-Am Jazz companies at SODA. She has taken classes from many master teachers, including Drika Overton, Jeannette Neill, Jacqui Young, Chad Levy and Amy Marshall just to name a few. Carol helped introduce Aerial Dance at Steppin’ Out, and is teaching all the Aerial Dance classes. She also plans to become certified by ABT (American Ballet Theatre) this year.
