Erin has been dancing for 14 years, and began dancing and performing with Steppin’ Out in 1996. She has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Modern, Pointe, and Aerial dance, and is currently taking Ballet, Tap, and Jazz classes with the Steppin’ Out dance company. Erin has been dancing and traveling with the dance company since 1998, and has performed at Universal Studios and the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida; Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, among others. In addition to earning many special awards and high scores with the dance company, she earned recognition by DTI (Dance Troupe International) and was awarded the Youth Dance Ambassador Award in 2004. From 2002-2004 she was also a member of the New England Civic Ballet, and performed in their productions of The Nutcracker and Cinderella. Erin has also performed as a principal dancer in Timberlane Regional High School’s musical Crazy for You, and was a member of the Merrimack College dance team. Erin is currently in her third year as a teacher at SODA, teaching ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop to students ages 3-adult. She also continues to attend annual dance workshops, including the DanzJam Weekend Teacher Intensive, and study under master teachers, some of whom have included Jacqui Young, Drika Overton, Amy Marshall, Phyllis George, and Roshni Pecora. Erin is also preparing to become certified by the American Ballet Theater this year. In addition to dancing, Erin recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Merrimack College in 2008, and is planning to return to school to earn a degree in Elementary Education. Erin is looking forward to another great year of classes with all of her students!
