Mike Lamalfa
Mike began teaching for SODA in 2001. He teaches Hip Hop, Jazz & Lyrical. His students have won many high gold medals at several dance competitions.
Mike started his dance career at Northern Essex where he met Jaqui Young and became a member of Push Factor Dance Company. Mike took teacher training classes and also began teaching for Jaqui at the Center for Performing Arts in 2000. Push factor performances included The Firehouse in Newburyport, The Collins Center in Andover, The Lowell Music Festival and the Astoria Center of the Arts in New York City.
Mike has taken Master classes from Brian Friedman as well as taking occasional classes for the past 7 years at Jeanette Neals Dance Studio under Kelly Peters, Tommy Coye and Billy McLaughlin.
Mike has lots of dance training, but is also very good at acting. He has performed in “Uncle Eb”, which toured up and down east coast in 2003, directed by Jeffrey Ortman. Mike was also featured in the independent Film ” The Carefree Complex” directed by Christopher Lutz in 2006. Mike has performed in several shows with Steppin’ Out Dance including the Christmas shows 2004 & 2005.
